(The Davenport Democrat and Leader. May 6, 1917)
Davenport had some big city entertainment in 1917 when the Pretty Baby Girls from “The Passing Show of 1916” appeared on stage at the Burtis.
“More pretty girls, more beautiful and startling costumes, tuneful music, dancers, singers and comedians, are crowded into the entertainment, than has ever been presented by any previous attraction bearing the Winter Garden label,” read the story in the Davenport Democrat and Leader.
“In the matter of feminine beauty and what is ‘Passing Show’ without feminine beauty?—there is a quality and variety to suit the most critical demander.”
